I love sharing my research with new audiences and consider public work an important part of my scholarship. I have expertise in: his/herstories of lesbian and radical feminisms, radical cultures of the long 1970s, opposition to comprehensive sexual health education in the Kanawha Valley, abandoned property in Central Appalachia, and rural community organizing.

Research Assistance
I am based in West Virginia and am available for archival research assistance within a four hour drive of Beckley. While I encourage distant researchers to support repositories by using their in-house digitization services whenever possible, I understand that sometimes your timeline may require a faster turnaround than those services allow. Whether you need images of a couple of documents from a folder or are hoping to take on a larger project but have limited ability to travel, I can help with your research needs. **In a limited number of cases, I am also open to traveling outside of my home base for archival research.**
Image Permissions/Editorial
The image permissions process can be long and tedious — let me help! I have previously done permissions for an art book and a scholarly monograph. Whether you need assistance executing a full project’s worth of permissions requests or are seeking practical advice early in the process for how to organize a project where you have many images for which you are seeking permissions, I am happy to help. I am also able to assist with manuscript prep.
Nonprofit Consulting and Project Management
Over the years, I’ve worked with a number of nonprofit organizations on projects big and small including crafting weekly newsletters, creating oral history interviews, conference planning, curriculum development, meeting facilitation, and more. I’m a bit of a jill of all trades, but I’d describe my specialty as “helping groups get unstuck.”
